Show HN: A terminal viewer for plain text data files (JSON,YAML,CSV,XML,)

Source: Show HN ·

When I started working hands-on with OpenAPI specifications, it became clear very quickly that using an editor to read large volumes of deeply nested JSON sucks, a very great deal. So I went looking for something to help, and came across https://jless.io This is an awesome terminal app for navigating nasty JSON documents. I am forever indebted to Paul Martinez for writing this tool. But it did have some gaps. It couldn't reload files that had changed, keeping your place in the JSON structure, which I really needed. And it only loaded one file at a time. But unfortunately it was written in Rust

Show HN: Tell the Sky – message lanterns drift on winds from live weather data

I created a web/mobile app that lets you write a story/secret/encouragement/etc... on a lantern. You can then let it go and it will float over a world map using live wind data from NOAA's public wind forecast. Other users can then catch them in a timed window as they float by overhead and add on to the message chain. Then they release them to continue on. It's just a fun thing I was trying - kind of like a message in a bottle but in the sky. I thought it sounded like a cool idea and after playing with it, I really like it but was curious if other people also thought it was cool or just seemed

I'm currently tracking 185 films across formats (35mm, 120, 110, 4x5, Instax Mini, etc.) from 7 stores. This is US only for now. If you shoot film I'd especially like to hear about stores I'm missing or anything that's wrong. Comments URL: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=50398327 Points: 1 # Comments: 0

Show HN: XOR's NFL Challenge – after nearly 40 years

As a kid I loved this DOS game. But I really thought the X's and O's needed numbers. So I spent countless hours trying to navigate through the compiled code trying to do it. I've often credited my interest in programming to those nights and days, waking up with the green and red lines baked into my eyeballs. Last night it took only 3 prompts. Just press "Display" from the menu. I made only one change to the code from there, making sure "Inside Charge" was a play you could call on defense. That was the go-to play. Now my 9 year-old self can go outside and touch grass, while the present day me n
